July 2015 marks the 20th anniversary of the Srebrenica genocide. The seminar is organized by PRIO and the Bosnia Hercegovina Association in Norway.

Key speaker: Dr. Lara Nettelfield, Royal Holloway University of London.

Dr. Nettelfield is a renowned Bosnia expert and a researcher. She recently published a co-authored manuscript titled Srebrenica in the Aftermath of Genocide (Cambridge University Press, 2014). This book reveals how interactions between local, national and international interventions - from refugee return and resettlement to commemorations, war crimes trials, immigration proceedings and election reform - have led to subtle, positive effects of social repair, despite persistent attempts at denial. Using an interdisciplinary approach, diverse research methods, and more than a decade of fieldwork in five countries, the authors trace the genocide's reverberations in Bosnia and abroad.

Expert panel:
Amor Masovic, Chairman of the Bosnian Federal Commission for Missing Persons
Zumra Zehomerovic, Mothers of the enclaves Srebrenica and Zepa

Moderator:Inger Skjelsbæk, Deputy Director, PRIO

There will also be a Memorial concert in Gamle Logen organized by the Bosnia Hercegovina Association in Norway at 19:00 on the 4 June 2015.
