PRIO invites applications for a three-year, full-time position as Doctoral Researcher. This position is part of a new research project, Transnational Lives in the Welfare State (TRANSWEL), led by Research Professor Jørgen Carling and carried out by PRIO in collaboration with the University of Oslo and the Erasmus University Rotterdam.

The Doctoral Researcher within this project will examine how Norwegian government institutions relate to people who live partly in Norway and partly elsewhere. The research will combine ethnographic methods and document analysis and result in a doctoral dissertation in English.

The position requires fluency in English and Norwegian and a master's degree in sociology, human geography or a closely related field. Familiarity with public administration is an asset. Deadline: 1 December 2014.
