Lorentzen, Jenny & Julie Marie Hansen (2016) Women Engaging in Islamic Charity as ‘Development Agents’, PRIO Gender, Peace and Security Update, 2016: PRIO.
The lead story in this issue of the GPS Update is Kaja Borchgrevink's research on women engaging in Islamic charity seen as 'development agents'. In this issue you can also read about the official launch of the PRIO Centre on Gender, Peace and Security. As usual, the GPS Update also gives you an update on relevant events and publications which might be of interest to our readership.
The PRIO Gender, Peace and Security Update is an electronic newsletter launched by the PRIO Centre on Gender, Peace and Security in response to growing interest among the public for information about women, peace and security issues. The newsletter will keep readers informed of the latest developments both internationally and in Norway in relation to UN Security Council Resolution 1325 (2000) on Women, Peace and Security and subsequent resolutions.
Don't hesitate to get in touch if you have views to share or ideas/suggestions for forthcoming issues. For any queries regarding the GPS, contact the editors: Jenny Kathrine Lorentzen (firstname.lastname@example.org) and Julie Marie Hansen (email@example.com).
