We are pleased to be able to welcome you to the concluding public seminar of the Liberal Peace and the Ethics of Peacebuilding Project. This is a three-year research project coordinated by PRIO that addresses the ethical dimensions of the liberal peacebuilding agenda.

At the seminar, general findings from the project will be presented by J. Peter Burgess (PRIO) and Kristoffer Lidèn (PRIO). In addition, the following case studies will be presented:
 

  • DR. Congo: Stein Sundstøl Eriksen, NUPI
  • Afghanistan: Shahrbanou Tadjbakhsh, Science Po / CERI
  • Bosnia: Inger Skjelsbæk, PRIO
  • Sudan: Endre Stiansen, Norwegian MFA
     

This will prepare the ground for a roundtable discussion on the ethical premises of in particular the Norwegian peacebuilding engagement.  Henrik Syse, Senior Researcher at PRIO, will chair the roundtable discussion.
