This workshop on ‘Frameworks of Conflict Management’ provides capacity building for civil servants, parliamentarians and members of civil society based in North East India. The workshop will provide extensive information on two examples of non-territorial institutional frameworks for conflict management, the Northern Ireland Assembly and the Norwegian Sami Parliament. The workshop aims not only to raise awareness of attempts to peacefully manage conflicts and protect the rights of minorities in other parts of the world, but to inspire new thinking about day-to-day responses to conflict in North East India, which may in turn help inform conflict management planning and policymaking.
