PRIO Gender, Peace and Security Update (Issue 1-2013)

The first 2013 issue of the GPS Update features a report from the Missing Peace Symposium 2013, which took place in February at the United States Institute of Peace (USIP) in Washington, DC. This three-day symposium brought together more than 200 academics, practitioners and policy makers from around the world to discuss sexual violence in conflict and post-conflict settings. The GPS update also features reports on relevant seminars, reports and policy briefs, as well as a list of new publications which might be of interest to our readership.

Missing Peace Workshop Convened Online

The Missing Peace Initiative brings together expert scholars, policymakers, practitioners, and military and civil society actors. By bringing together these different actors, the initiative aims to examine the issue of sexual violence in conflict and post-conflict settings, identify gaps in knowledge and reporting and explore how to increase the effectiveness of current responses to such violence. Research Professor Inger Skjelsbæk heads the project at PRIO.
