Upon invitation from the Institute for Palestine Studies (IPS), Middle East Centre researchers Júlia Palik, Bruno Oliviera Martins, and Nic Marsh participated in a closed seminar on the future strategic changes and challenges in the Middle East.

The seminar took place in Beirut, Lebanon, 8-10 November and brought together researchers and practitioners working on the Middle East, including researchers from International Crisis Group, European Council on Foreign Relations, ETH Zurich, the Graduate Institute Geneva, Johns Hopkins University, and the London School of Economics. Participants discussed future issues pertaining to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, regional and international actors' roles and interests in the Middle East, non-state actors' role in civil war dynamics, and the role of technology in future warfare.
