Artificial intelligence is increasingly integrated into conflict early-warning systems, crisis preparedness and anticipatory action. However, developing trustworthy and transparent AI systems are a major challenge, made more difficult by differing perspectives, definitions and priorities across sectors.

This panel will unite researchers, practitioners and developers working at the intersection of AI and peace, clarifying key concepts of interpretability and explainability. The goal is to create more precise and practical systems that meet diverse needs of actors working to mitigate the impacts of armed conflict.
