Based on their professional assessments, PRIO Directors have made it a tradition to offer their personal shortlists for the Peace Prize. Last year Director Henrik Urdal highlighted Abiy Ahmed as a strong and worthy candidate.
This year, Henrik Urdal chose to focus on themes such as Sudan, represented by Alaa Salah and the FFC, youth (for the second year in a row represented by Hajer Sharief and Ilwad Elman), and journalism.
