On 9 January PRIO and the Doha Institute of Graduate Studies, brought together academics and practitioners in Doha to discuss the potential of Islamic social finance for sustainable development.

The event was hosted and facilitate by Ghassan Elkahlout (Director of the Center for Conflict and Humanitarian Studies/ Doha Institute for Graduate Studies). Kaja Borchgrevink (PRIO) gave an introduction to 'Islamic social finance for sustainable development' and chaired the session. She was joined by HUMA-project colleagues Arne Strand (CMI) and Gina Lende (MF).

The round table brough together key actors in the Qatar aid sector, including Qatar Charity, Qatar Red Crescent, Hamad bin Khalifa University and Qatar's Regulatory Authority for Charitable Activities (RACA).
