Workshop organized by PRIO in cooperation with the Institute of Defence Studies (Oslo) and the Institute of World Economy and Politics (IWEP) at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS) in Beijing.

The intention is to discuss various approaches to explaining the relative absence of warfare in East Asia since 1979, and suistanability of regional peace.
