Call for Applications: PhD course, Doing Migration Research Today: Concepts, Ethics and Communication

The Research School on Peace and Conflict invites applications for the PhD course Doing Migration Research Today: Concepts, Ethics and Communication to take place at PRIO in Oslo on 30 October - 1 November 2019. The deadline for applications is 31 July 2019.

Migration research globally takes place within a societal climate where contention over migration is substantial. In this course, we offer participants introduction to key themes in contemporary migration research, including around issues of governance, citizenship, transnationalism and belonging. We demonstrate how these themes speak to or intersect with prevailing contention over migration, at societal, family and individual levels, in Europe and globally. We will also explore what roles migration research can play to inform debates, contribute research-based perspectives, and engage with contention over migration in varying ways.

The course is free of charge, but students will have to cover their own travel and accommodation costs.

PhD students will normally be prioritized.

Equals 5 ECTS (with approved essay) according to standards of University of Oslo.

Please visit the course page for further information and to submit your application.
