An International Workshop
At Holmen Fjord Hotel, near Oslo, Norway, 21–23 June 2005
The workshop brought together approximately 70 participants to discuss aspects of human security and climate change. It served as a forum for formulating a research agenda related to human security and climate change.
A selection of the best papers from the workshop have been submitted to two academic journals as special issues.
The workshop was organized by the Global Environmental Change and Human Security (GECHS) in collaboration with CICERO and the Centre for the Study of Civil War (CSCW) at the International Peace Research Institute, Oslo (PRIO), with the support of the Research Council of Norway, the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the United Nations Environment Programme, and the International Human Dimensions Programme on Global Environmental Change (IHDP).
