Join us during Oslo Peace Days for a powerful screening on teachers and students navigating war’s shadow in the classroom. How do ordinary people resist when propaganda knocks at the school door? A panel on civil society and resistance follows, featuring acclaimed author Åsne Seierstad.
Mr. Nobody against Putin is a must-see documentary for all those who want to learn more about the Russian regime’s persistent efforts to indoctrinate its own population, and the civil society activists attempting to fight for democracy and human rights: As Russia launches its full-scale invasion of Ukraine, primary schools across Russia’s hinterlands are transformed into recruitment sites for the war. Facing the ethical dilemma of working in a system defined by propaganda and violence, a brave teacher goes undercover to film what’s really happening in his school.
On the occasion of Oslo Peace Days 2025, PRIO and the Embassy of the Netherlands in Norway, in collaboration with the Dutch foundation Movies that Matter, and Cinemateket in Oslo, are proud to present a free viewing of Mr. Nobody Against Putin. The movie will be followed by a panel debate with experts on the Russian civil society of today, and an on-site reception for those who wish to discuss the contents of the film with the panelists afterwards.
