Place: PRIO, Hausmannsgate 7, Oslo

On World AIDS Day, it is timely to discuss the knowns and unknowns about HIV/AIDS and International Security. PRIO invites you to a seminar with this topic.

Stefan Elbe, Reader in International Relations at the University of Sussex, will be critically discussing the Links between HIV/AIDS and human security, HIV/AIDS and national security, and HIV/AIDS and international security, drawing out the wider implications about the significance of international efforts to ‘securitize’ HIV/AIDS for our understanding of security and contemporary international relations. The seminar will be chaired by Sonja Kittelsen,

PRIO. The seminar is presented by the SIP: ‘Europe under threat’ and the Security Programme at PRIO. This SIP studies non-conventional insecurity.
