​Seminar with Dr. Smruti Pattanaik, IDSA; Discussant: Klaus Voll, Advisor on Asia for the Foundation for European Progressive Studies

Dr. Smruti Pattanaik, a Research Fellow at the Institute of Defence Studies and Analyses ( IDSA), New Delhi, is currently a Visiting Fellow at PRIO. Dr. Pattanaik holds a PhD from the South Asian Studies Division of School of International Studies, JNU. Her main areas of interest are Afghanistan, identity politics in South Asia, the army in politics, and foreign policy issues. She was a post-doctoral fellow at the Centre for International Relations and Research (CERI) in Paris in 2008.Dr. Pattanaik is the author of Elite perceptions in foreign policy: Role of print media in influencing Indo-Pak relations, 1989-99 (2004), and has also edited a book entitled South Asia: Envisioning a Regional Future (2011). Her current project focuses on "India Neighborhood Policy".

For this seminar Klaus Voll, Advisor on Asia for the Foundation for European Progressive Studies, will act as discussant.
