The Peace Research Institute Oslo (PRIO) is proud to announce that its two flagship journals – Journal of Peace Research and Security Dialogue – will be published by Oxford University Press (OUP) from 2026.
As the scholarly publishing landscape continues to evolve, PRIO’s decision to partner with Oxford University Press reflects the Institute’s commitment to ensuring a stable, quality-orientated and sustainable future for the journals. Oxford University Press’s dedication to research excellence, and its open and transparent approach, make it a strong strategic fit for PRIO.
‘We are excited to begin this new partnership with Oxford University Press. This move will help our journals grow and thrive in a turbulent environment. I have long advocated for a scholarly publishing system that is both financially sustainable and quality-oriented, and I believe OUP shares these values,’ said PRIO Director Henrik Urdal.
’We are honored and delighted to form this collaboration with the world’s leading peace research organization in support of its mission to disseminate interdisciplinary, excellent, and innovative research to inform policy, practice, and public debate towards the advancement of peace,’ said Alison Denby, VP of Journals at Oxford University Press.
PRIO extends its sincere thanks to Sage Publishing for a long and productive collaboration that has helped build the journals’ international standing.
