Kristoffer Lidén, Maria Gabrielsen Jumbert, and Kristina Roepstorff from the RedLines project, with Francesco Segoni (MSF) participated in a panel on “When Humanitarians Negotiate and Mediate: Principles, Dilemmas, and Compromises.” The panel was chaired by Panos Moumtzis (GELI, UN).
The panel tackled the challenging and essential questions:
- How do humanitarians uphold ethical principles while under pressure to secure access?
- Who carries the risk—especially when local actors are negotiating on the frontlines?
- Can neutrality and trust be preserved in deeply polarized environments?
