PRIO is announcing two postdoctoral positions linked to the ERC-funded project Rituals in Combatant-to-Civilian Transformation (Com2Civ), led by Senior Researcher Júlia Palik.
The European Research Council (ERC) is the premier funding organization for frontier research in Europe, supporting groundbreaking projects across all disciplines.
Com2Civ explores how rituals influence – both positively and negatively – the reintegration of ex-combatants after war. Through fieldwork in Colombia and the Philippines, Com2Civ combines insights from political science, social psychology, anthropology and gender studies to develop new theory and empirical knowledge about the social and psychological mechanisms of reintegration.
The two postdoctoral positions have different disciplinary profiles: one in social psychology, focusing on survey design and field experiments, and one in anthropology, emphasizing ethnographic research and life-history interviews in Colombia. Both are full-time, two-year positions offering the opportunity to contribute to a vibrant, interdisciplinary and international research environment at PRIO in Oslo.
