Research for a more peaceful world
PRIO is seeking a new Director to lead the institute. We are looking for an engaged and unifying leader who will contribute to strengthening peace research nationally and internationally.
As the Director of PRIO, you will lead a distinguished, international and interdisciplinary research institute. You will assume overall responsibility for strengthening PRIO’s standing, shaping its strategic direction, and further developing the institute’s role as an independent body, renowned for its academic integrity. This will require active external engagement, underpinned by a comprehensive understanding of the research sector and its frameworks.
We seek a candidate with experience in leading knowledge-based professionals and managing organisational development within complex structures. You have relevant higher education, preferably a PhD, with research experience and a thorough understanding of research policy and the Norwegian institute sector.
As a leader, you are inclusive, inspiring and decisive, with a passion for team-building and fostering a cohesive and trust-based working environment. You have excellent professional communication skills in English, as well as in Norwegian or another Scandinavian language.
The position is a four-year term, with the possibility of renewal for up to three terms in total.
