Interests and experience

  • Civil resistance/social movements
  • Consequences of migration
  • Host community-refugee relations
  • Causes, dynamics and consequences of mass mobilisation

I am a doctoral researcher on the RCN-funded project 'TRUST: Attitudinal Impacts of Refugees on Host Communities in the Global South', where my PhD project investigates host-refugee dynamics through analysing spatial data. Does hosting refugees increase the occurrence of (non)violent mobilisation across non-Western contexts, and are there subnational differences? More broadly, I am interested in the effects and consequences of civil society mobilisation as a call for social change. Previously, I have studied the impacts of organisational participation in civil resistance movements in African countries on post-resistance democratisation.
