China-US Technological Competition: Consequences of the “Chip War” for Norway

This project responds to the urgency of grappling with the current technological competition between China and the US. The project will provide the Ministry of Defence, as well as other relevant actors in Europe and like-minded states, with empirically-based analysis of how advanced technology, including the semiconductors and chips used to power artificial intelligence (AI), are being used by China and the US as tools in their strategic competition. In turn, the project will provide recommendations for how Norway can position itself with respect to these competing interests.
