Giacomo investigates how emerging technologies influence international security and global affairs. His PhD project examines digital tech procurement in Indonesia, Malaysia, and the Philippines amid great-power rivalry between the U.S. and China.
Giacomo leads a MoD project on space geopolitics and its security implications for Norway, and works on several other research projects. He co-leads PRIO Security and Technology Research Group.
