Reconciliation in Cyprus

Jan 2006 - Dec 2006
This project involves a mapping of views of Greek Cypriots and Turkish Cypriots on possibilities and challenges of reconciliation.

Following the completion of approx. 120 interviews, the results of the project will be presented to the persons interviewed who will be invited to discuss the findings in a series of workshops. This could provide the continuation of the project with active dialgoue among the participants. The final results will be presented as a report, preferably in all three languages, and disseminated to relevant institutions. The project, in its first phase, aims at mapping the terrain and as such serve as a reference for any future discussions on how to address the issue of reconciliation in Cyprus.

The project is headed by sociologist Ari Sitas, in close collaboration with Dilek Latif and Natasa Loizou.
