Long-time PRIO-associate Håkan Wiberg passed away in his home in Copenhagen on 3 July 2010. Wiberg’s last visit to PRIO was in June 2009, when he took part in the celebration of the institute’s 50th Anniversary, and attended his last editorial meeting of the Journal of Peace Research (JPR). Håkan Wiberg was a frequent visitor to PRIO from the mid-1960s onwards. In 1980 and 1982 he spent several months as a guest researcher at PRIO. Wiberg remained in close contact with PRIO and served on the editorial committee of JPR continuously since 1977 – a total of 33 years – longer than anyone else.
