The pioneering peace researcher Elise M. Bouldingdied in her home in Massachusetts 24 June. A sociology scholar, but also an organizational pioneer, she was co-founder of the International Peace Research Association (IPRA), and leader of the Women's International League of Peace and Freedom (WILPF). She was instrumental in founding the peace studies at the University of Colorado at Boulder, as well as at Dartmouth College.
