The Israeli Perspective on the Two-state Solution

Led by Menachem Klein

Oct 2009 – Dec 2010

The aim of this project is to provide first-hand insight into Israeli perceptions and policies regarding a possible two-state solution to the conflict with the Palestinians. The analysis will place current Israeli operations into both a historical context (the development of the current Israeli regime) and a comparative context (Apartheid in South Africa and French rule in Algeria). The focus will be on Israeli activity in the West Bank and Gaza Strip since 2000, the rise of Hamas in 2006, and the role of the USA under G.W. Bush, and this will be used to develop implications for the idea of two states in the current political context.
