The academic conference on Women, Peace and Security in Myanmar will present papers that describe the range of women´s voices through times of war and negotiations for peace in Myanmar. As the 21st century Panglong process moves forward, a target has been set to reach 30% female representation in Myanmar's parliament, reminiscent of the post-conflict Constituent Assembly in Nepal adecade ago. Engaging critically with the Women, Peace and Security literature, the conference on "Women, Peace and Security in Myanmar" will discuss the potential of peace processes to become a window of opportunity for women's empowerment.
