What role does migration play in the way we live our lives today?
This event features two research-based animations followed by a discussion on migration experiences, linking South Asia to present-day Oslo.
Come to see two short animated films, one from Karachi and one from Mumbai, that address social mobility and migration. Mumbai: 'Rahul, Varsha, Shankar and the City of Opportunity' and 'Paths to where we are' - Karachi. The films are based on PRIO research, illustrated by local artists - MiaJose and Wasfa Kamal - and produced in collaboration with PositiveNegatives.
After the screening, there will be a short panel discussion about different experiences with migration. The panel will include Atta Ansari and Pratharna, and the discussion will be moderated by Astri Ghosh. Before the film screening, PRIO Research Professor Marta Bivand Erdal will give a brief introduction on how these films have come about.
