The pioneering peace researcher Elise M. Boulding died in her home in Massachusetts 24 June. A sociology scholar, but also an organizational pioneer, she was co-founder of the International Peace Research Association (IPRA), and leader of the Women's International League of Peace and Freedom (WILPF).
