The Religious Gender Justice Activism (GenderJustice) project was successfully launched in August 2025.
The kickoff marks the start of a three-year research project focused on religious activists and their efforts to promote gender justice in Colombia, Kenya, Indonesia, Pakistan, and at the United Nations.
The research team – comprising partners from Colombia, Denmark, Indonesia, Kenya, the Netherlands, Pakistan and Norway – met at PRIO for three days of engaged discussion about project operationalization; conceptualization, methods, ethics, and making plans for the coming years.
A closed seminar with policy makers, activists and academics was held to launch the research project to stakeholders in Norway, and share perspectives and experiences from ongoing gender justice work.
