From 1 January 2026, the international journal Security Dialogue will be led by a new editorial team based at its institutional home, PRIO.

The journal’s incoming Editor-in-Chief, Bruno Oliveira Martins, will be joined by Deputy Editors Maria Gabrielsen Jumbert and Kristoffer Lidén. Marit Moe-Pryce will continue in the role as the journal’s Managing Editor, ensuring continuity and operational stability.

Security Dialogue is one of the world’s leading academic journals in critical security studies. It offers an interdisciplinary forum for innovative research on the changing practices, actors and effects of security. The move to a PRIO-anchored editorial leadership marks a new chapter in the journal’s growth.

Incoming Editor-in-Chief Bruno Oliveira Martins expressed enthusiasm about the new role: “I am excited to take on this new challenge and help lead Security Dialogue into its next chapter. Working together with Maria, Kristoffer and Marit, I look forward to building on the journal’s strong foundations while continuing to broaden its global reach and impact.”

PRIO extends its sincere gratitude to outgoing Editor-in-Chief Mark Salter, whose leadership has been central to Security Dialogue’s development into a top-tier journal. Salter will continue to serve as Editor-in-Chief during the transition period, supporting a smooth handover and the continuation of the journal’s high academic standards.

With this change, PRIO looks forward to further supporting innovative and critical research on security, while ensuring the journal’s continued excellence and global relevance.
