While the Journal of Peace Research (JPR) has long been highly ranked on the Web of Science/Thomson Reuter's Journal Citation Reports, 2015 was a record year for PRIO's leading international journal. JPR has increased its Impact Factor by nearly 50% from 2014 to 2015, earning the journal a top-three placement globally on both the Political Science and the International Relations lists. JPR is the highest ranked European journal in both categories.
PRIO hereby announces 1–2 scholarships for master’s degree students scheduled to finish their thesis by June 2015. The scholarships are given in connection with the project Political Institutions and Armed Conflict, directed by Håvard Hegre.
The deadline for applications is 22 September 2014, and decisions will be made by 1 October.
The 2014 Journal Citation Reports were released by Thomson Reuters Tuesday evening. The two PRIO journals Journal of Peace Research, edited by Henrik Urdal and Security Dialogue, edited by Claudia Aradau, have both increased their international impact as calculated by these reports. PRIO takes pride in hosting the editorial offices of two of the world's leading academic journals in their fields, and would like to congratulate the editors and the editorial staff!
PRIO invites applications for a temporary Senior Researcher position (6–18 months starting between 1 March and 1 July 2014) in association with the Conceptualization and Measurement of Democracy (CMD) and Political Institutions and Armed Conflict projects led by Håvard Hegre. Successful applicants will be in residence at PRIO’s offices in Oslo.
Deadline for applications is 3 February 2014 (extended due to technical problems).
