Kerstin Fisk

Kerstin Fisk is an associate professor of political science at Loyola Marymount University. Her research focuses on forced migration as it relates to issues of conflict and security, emphasizing civil war dynamics, violence against civilians, and communal violence. She has published work in Journal of Peace Research, Journal of Conflict Resolution, Civil Wars, and International Studies Perspectives.

Fisk's most recent projects investigate subnational-level patterns of communal violence related to refugee encampment and government sponsored militia attacks on refugee hosting communities in Africa. At PRIO, she is working on two projects - TRUST: Attitudinal Impacts of Refugees on Host Communities in the Global South and CONMIG: Geographies of Conflict-Induced Migration. She holds a doctoral degree in political science from Claremont Graduate University and a master's degree in political science from Miami University.
