PRIO is an institutional member of IMISCOE, Europe's largest interdisciplinary research network in the field of migration, integration and diversity studies. Within PRIO, our membership is organized as a project.
IMISCOE was established as an EU-funded Network of Excellence in 2004 and was extended from 2010 onwards as an independent network funded primarily by member contributions. Migration researchers at PRIO have been involved in IMISCOE activities as individual members since the beginning of the network’s history, and the institute became an institutional member in 2015. PRIO researchers have collaborated with other IMISCOE members on several large projects, including EUMAGINE, THEMIS and TRANSWEL. Together with the Erasmus University Rotterdam and the University of Maastricht, PRIO established IMISCOE’s Standing Committee on Interaction of Migrant Integration and Transnationalism.
We invite submissions of abstracts for a proposed session at the 19th IMISCOE Annual Conference in Oslo, on migrant-host interactions in the Global South.
The Migration Research Hub collects research on migration and makes it easily searchable and shareable. For the first time, information on publications, research projects, datasets and experts has been brought together in one fully-searchable database, underpinned by a taxonomy created and refined by experts in migration from a wide range of angles.
How does migrant transnationalism matter in and for emigration contexts?
