Project partners are the Friedrich Ebert Stiftung, Alma Economics and the Mediterranean Growth Initiative

The Eastern Mediterranean region faces complex geopolitical dynamics, security concerns, reconstruction, and trade possibilities. It is energy poor, though it has the potential of untapped reserves. It is the least connected area of the Mediterranean region, where the region itself is the least interconnected of the world, with its 500 million people, producing 10% of global GDP but only 1\4 of its trade is intra-regional. The Mediterranean is Europe’s frontline to Africa and the Eastern Mediterranean is the Western world’s proximity frontier to the Middle East and further East.

Effective policy making in this region would benefit data-driven decisions that consider socio-economic trends, trade and security concerns and dynamics. The project outlines the importance of data analysis and infographics in shaping informed and effective stakeholder dialogue and policy making.
