Building the Research Capacity of Somali Researchers through Post-graduate Level Social Research Methodology Training

This internal training needs assessment was undertaken to gather baseline data about the existing research and teaching capacities of staff members at the University of Hargeisa and Puntland State University in order to support the development of post-graduate teaching of research methods, the development of an appropriate Training of Trainers (TOT) course, and to assess the other capacity needs of the institutions. To assess the demand for field courses, the needs assessment also included investigation of the broader research context in Somaliland and Puntland.
