As of January 1, Louise Olsson will take over as Coordinator of the Gender Research Group after Jenny Lorentzen. Louise will aim to work together with all interested researchers at PRIO to contribute to the consolidation of PRIO’s profile as a prominent research hub on issues related to gender in peace, security and armed conflict; an effort conducted in a collaboration with PRIO’s Gender, Peace and Security Center. Louise has previously created and led the Folke Bernadotte Academy’s Research Working Group on Women, Peace and Security (2009-2018). The aim of the working group was both to strengthen systematic empirical research while drawing on feminist studies, and to ensure the improved use of research results in practice.
