The global security landscape is undergoing profound changes. As conflict dynamics grow more complex and state fragility increases, the international community faces mounting challenges in maintaining peace and stability.

Against this backdrop, PRIO invites you to the launch of Conflict Trends: A Global Overview, 1946–2024, containing the latest annual assessment of global conflict patterns, using UCDP conflict data.

Join us for an in-depth presentation of the newest conflict trends data, followed by a panel discussion with leading experts on conflict trends data. This event will explore the underlying drivers of contemporary conflicts, the implications of declining international engagement, and the critical choices facing policymakers in a world marked by rising violence and fragmentation.

Speakers

  • Presentation by Therese Petterson, Research Coordinator, Department of Peace and Conflict Research, Uppsala University
  • Panel participants to be announced
  • Siri Aas Rustad, Research Director at PRIO, will moderate the conversation
