My doctoral project explore apologies as a methodological tool to investigate reconciliation after legacies of injustice. In particular, how apologies may provide insight into experiences of collective responsibility and how these tie with interpretations of history and reconciliatory efforts among members or institutes of the apologizing group. The project is part of RECON, investigating the significance of knowledge for reconciliation processes in Åarjel-Saemien (South Sámi) regions in Norway.
