I am a Senior Researcher on the ERC Starting Grant project "Adapted to War" (AWAR).

We are going to investigate the existence of evolutionary cognitive adaptations to warfare. More specifically, we will design cognitive experiments and use online data collection platforms to investigate whether we humans, through evolution, are equipped with a cognitive processing mechanism by which we automatically use visual cues to assess coalitional formidability (i.e., the formidability of other individuals and groups), and produce adaptive behaviours so that to avoid falling as a victim in a protentional conflict.
