Luka Biong Deng Kuol holds a PhD in development economics from the University of Sussex and an MA and MBA from KU Leuven. He served for five years as a Minister in the Office of the President of South Sudan and as a National Minister of Cabinet Affairs of the Sudan until he resigned in May 2011. He is currently the Executive Director of Kush Inc, a non-profit organization that supports building bridges between the international community and local African initiatives with focus on South Sudan and Abyei. In 2014 he was appointed a PRIO Global Fellow.
Kuol is also an Associate Fellow at the Carr Center for Human Rights Policy at Harvard Kennedy School, and has held a fellowship at the Institute of Decvelopment Studies at the University of Sussex. For more information, see the CV (to the left).
