This workshop aims at exploring how or whether the plethora of mechanisms uncovered in the international relations and sociology literatures on transnationalism and transnational mobilization are of use in theorizing and empirically documenting the transnational dimension highlighted in a growing number of studies of civil war. The workshop is co-sponsored by the Centre for the Study of Civil War, International Peace Research Institute, Oslo (PRIO), the Department of Political Science, University of Oslo, and the Moynihan Institute for Global Affairs, Syracuse University.
