Background

​Jeff Checkel is Professor of International Studies and Simons Chair in International Law and Human Security at Simon Fraser University. He has been affiliated with PRIO since 2003 through the Centre for the Study of Civil War (CSCW). He was Working Group leader for the Centre's Group on Transnational and International Facets of Civil War (2006-2010) and Social Dynamics of Civil War (2011-2012). In 2014, he was appointed a PRIO Global Fellow.
