PRIO researchers have been prolific contributors to the field of humanitarian studies in 2018. The contributions are mainly in the field of humanitarian technology and refugee management.
The December 2018 issue of the PRIO Gender, Peace and Security Update is now out.
Members from all five national branches of the Nordic Women Mediators (NWM) network will convene in Copenhagen, Denmark for a two-day annual meeting of the regional network on 21-22 November.
On
5-6 December 2018, PRIO and Chr. Michelsen Institute (CMI) is organizing a
conference on Women and Peacebuilding in
Africa as part of a research project funded by The Carnegie Corporation of
New York and the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
On 23-25 October, there will be a gathering of regional women mediator networks in New York. The meeting is organized as a collaborative effort between by Femwise-Africa, the Mediterranean Women Mediators Network (MWMN), the Nordic Women Mediators (NWM), and the Women Meditators across the Commonwealth (WMC). It is hosted by the International Peace Institute (IPI).
The ninth High-Level Seminar on Gender and Inclusive Mediation Processes will this year be held in Oslo, 9-11 October
2018.
Since its start in
2013, this series of seminars is organized by the UN Department of Political Affairs
(DPA), the Crisis Management Initiative (CMI) and the Governments of Norway and
Finland in cooperation with the PRIO Centre on Gender, Peace and Security. At PRIO, the
project is led by Torunn L. Tryggestad.

Four PRIO researchers have contributed to the upcoming book 'REFUGEE RESETTLEMENT: Power, Politics, and Humanitarian Governance'. The collection, which will be released this month, examines the issue from various angles, including the social, legal, historical, and political ramifications.
The book was edited by Adèle Garnier, Liliana Lyra Jubilut, and Kristin Bergtora Sandvik.

On 31 May to 1 June, Torunn L. Tryggestad, Julie M. Hansen and Linn Marie Reklev from the PRIO Centre on Gender, Peace and Security were in Prato, Italy for the annual consortium meeting of Gender/Women, Peace and Security Centres.
